A ghost of a chance

Mismatched socks caught in my eyes,

They remind me of your quiet lies.

Into the lost and found they hide,

Like us, misplaced and left aside.

I wonder if you’ll ever arise,

A ghost of a chance in thin disguise.

I hope you hear my silent sigh,

Now all my tears have long run dry.

You used to tell me bedtime stories

Line and lines on dead star theories.

Stars that glow through tragic endings

And how you find them fascinating.

Those memories leave me wondering why,

How many dead stars fill the sky.

Like lonely socks no one will claim,

They wait for someone to call their name.
