Imagine waking up on a campus buzzing with tempting cafes, stalls and food trucks—then realizing you have only RM10 to fuel yourself from dawn until dusk. That’s exactly what we put three Sunway University students through in our latest video experiment. With no borrowing, no freebies and zero room for extra top-ups, they had to stretch every ringgit while keeping hangry feelings at bay.
Breakfast on a Budget
Bright and early, our challengers made their first strategic move: hunting down affordable kopi-o stalls. Two opted for economical half-boiled eggs with kaya toast, while one braved a plain nasi lemak at a ‘hidden’ RM1.50 stall tucked behind the admin block. Energy levels held steady—and so did their wallets.
Lunch Moves
By midday, the campus food court turned into a gauntlet of nasi campur, char kuey teow and roti canai temptations. Our most frugal eater built a colourful plate of veggies and sambal for under RM5, leaving enough change for a small sugar cane juice. Others had to sacrifice dessert to stay in budget—proving that discipline can taste bittersweet.
Dinner Drama
As evening rolled in, only RM2–3 remained per student. Two managed to score discounted fried rice near closing time; the third discovered a late-night snack stall selling buns for just RM1 each. By pooling leftover change, they even shared a single packet of keropok to celebrate their victory.
Final Verdict
No one went hungry—and surprisingly, no one went broke. Creativity, local insider tips and disciplined choices turned a meager RM10 into three fully-fueled days of stories (and Instagram shots). This challenge shows that with a little ingenuity, every ringgit really does count. Want more budget hacks? Stay tuned for our next campus food adventure!
