I longed for her touch, a blessing denied,
not the warmth of a thousand suns that reside.
Not the heavens above nor the stars that gleam,
could rival the peace of her hand within mine.
What is Olympus, with all its might,
when I built my throne upon your final night?
What is eternity, what is divine,
when the one soul I desire cannot be mine?
I longed to speak her name,
to carry it upon my lips like a sacred hymn.
Not as a possession nor a mortal claim,
but as a prayer I whispered within.
Her name was nectar upon my tongue,
a song half written, yet forever unsung.
A sweetness my soul could never outgrow,
a flame even the heavens could not overthrow.
If I could weave the threads of fate once more,
if the Fates would open the ancient door,
I would spare you sorrow, I would spare you pain,
I would shield your heart from every rain.
I would love you beyond mortal measure,
not for glory, not for heavenly treasure.
I would speak your name until stars grew dim,
until even the gods remembered you within.
Let me drink from Lethe’s forgotten stream,
let oblivion bury what I have seen.
Let it erase the night I chose the sky,
the night I watched my beloved die.
Yet your name remains upon my breath,
stronger than time, stronger than death.
For I drank from Lethe’s silent tide,
and still your memory remained inside.
What river could erase
the mourning of a god disgraced?
What force could command my heart to forget
the love that even eternity cannot set?
Oh, if only I could return to that hour,
before regret revealed its power.
I would love you with a voice so divine,
that eternity itself would echo your name through time.
How blind was I.
How foolish was my pride.
I chased immortality,
yet lost the one thing I could not survive.
Now I wander beneath Hades’ gaze,
condemned to walk these endless days.
For every soul that crosses my sight,
reminds me of the one I sacrificed.
