There is nothing better than a new video to start the new year. To kick off the year, we’re featuring a heartwarming YouTube video from a social experiment. With our team presenting heartfelt notes to random strangers, or rather, Sunway students, to encourage and appreciate them for what they are currently accomplishing in life. We will see their reactions and thoughts after getting the notes in this video.
Fencing, aquatics, bowling, wushu and shooting. What do they all have in common? These are sports that not everyone can master, much less represent their own state in competitions. These are sports that demand intense training and immense concentration.
Fluffy, flaky fried dough served with dal curry on the side, paired with a satisfying cup of frothy teh tarik (pulled tea) or coffee. What a treat. To many, roti canai is a comfort food, whether it’s eaten for breakfast or in the middle of the night.
TED talks are given by renowned people in order to share “ideas worth spreading”. Past speakers have included Stephen Hawking, Jeff Bezos and many other Nobel Prize winners. On the 25th of September, TedxSunway University organized their salon event known as “The Powerhouse Within”. “It signified how breakthroughs were still possible from science and technology even though we were faced with hardships and the internal powerhouse that drives all of us to achieve our goals regardless of being short or long term goals.” says the emcee.
Striking a balance between academics and sports is not an easy task but these scholars have somehow managed to do just that. Thus, Echo is proud to present, “Meet the Stars”, epitomizing the stories of these scholars who have gone above and beyond to rewrite history and make their dreams a reality.
In the spirit of Sunway’s Friendship Month, Student Leadership & Engagement celebrated Youth Empowerment through a series of talks, friendship appreciation stories, games, and online bonding activities to make new friends.
Let’s talk about a pretty common theme, education. Given the importance of education in the upbringing of youths, it raises the question of “What has our country accomplished in terms of education standards and where do we go from here?”
On 20th August 2021, the Sunway Psychology Club had organized a talk to share about the psychology regarding interrogations and confessions. The speaker of the talk, Dr Chung Kai Li, who is a PhD holder in Psychology from Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland, is currently the Deputy Head of Section and the Programme Lead at the School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences in the University of Reading Malaysia. She has been studying investigative interviewing for her research and often works closely with child victims and witnesses.
