The study of geopolitics concerns the way in which nations interact with one another, the nature of the policies instituted that govern these interactions, and how the motivations that underlie these policies can be reasoned to in light of a country’s individual interest.

Wimbledon Championship is known as the oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament. It is one of the four major Grand Slam tennis tournaments alongside the French Open, Australia Open and US Open. Wimbledon, is the only tournament that is played on grass surface and takes place at the All England Club in Wimbledon, London. It is also the only Grand Slam that does not conduct matches at night. The tradition of this championship includes a strict all-white dress code for competitors and royal patronage. Strawberry and cream is also one of the most consumed confectionery during the two week long matches.

Time is running out… And, yes, that’s a threat. In 2021, UN Secretary-General António Guterres said, “We have reached a tipping point on the need for climate action. The disruption to our climate and our planet is already worse than we thought, and it is moving fast.” With the Earth falling short of the targets set by the Paris Agreement, he added, “We must urgently secure a breakthrough on adaptation and resilience.”

What does press even mean to the people? As the voices of students, Echo celebrates this year’s World Press Freedom Day which falls on the 3rd of May 2022. World Press Freedom Day was announced by the UN General Assembly back in 1993. This was first raised in the UN General Assembly in 1991, after African journalists created the landmark Windhoek Declaration on media pluralism and independence.
