Celebrate with a bowl of ice cream.’, wise words indeed from John Harrison, Dreyer’s official ice cream taste tester. A man whose tongue is so sensitive, it’s been insured for millions of dollars. Returning to the matter at hand, ice cream being the star of frozen desserts is no doubt irresistible for its enchanting sugary and creamy concoction. No need for self-blame. Ice cream is perfectly engineered, so much so it is indistinguishable from magic.
Lurking within the manifold layers of society is a kindling animosity that once ignited, may give rise to a destructive hate. This animosity goes by the name Islamophobia and has become a widely used term in political and social climates. In many countries, followers of Islam are often perceived as a collective “other”; a group of people who don’t quite belong or fit into society. Because of these ‘othering’ tendencies, Muslims are often subjected to intersectional microaggressions and hate crimes which may bring about many psychological impacts.
Be careful what you say—the world listens
It’s 1pm. An inebriated man logs onto an anonymous account and starts spewing stereotypes about different kinds of people. He attacks men, women, the elderly, the young…no one is spared. When challenged, he simply says, “I did nothing wrong—freedom of speech means I have the right to say what I want to.”
The European Super League (ESL) was a midweek annual club football competition which initially consisted of 12 of Europe’s leading football clubs who are also known as the ‘Founding Clubs’. The Founding Clubs include AC Milan, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur. 3 other clubs were said to be joining ESL, bringing the total number of Founding Clubs to 15. These founding members were to be permanent participants and also act as governing partners in the competition.
