ANT-MAN AND THE WASP

Good day to you sirs and madams alike! I’m back again with a spoiler-free movie review for Ant-Man and The Wasp, sequel to Ant-Man (2015) and Marvel’s latest money vortex to roll off the production line.

It’s a comedy, through and through, almost trying to swerve into rom-com territory but pulling back to make space for all the mandatory action sequences. Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly are cute as Ant-Man and The Wasp. They kick a lot of ass, but they’re cute as all hell while doing it. (Side note, why is the word ‘ass’ censored in cinemas but not, say, the ‘S’ or ‘B’ word?). Most of our laughs come from Luis, played by Michael Peña, as he plays the sidekick to the sidekick along with his own bunch of little sidekicks.

Yuri!!! on Ice: the Anime that Stole My Heart

Many articles ago, I mentioned that I came across a fan video on YouTube which was so stunning, I immediately sped off to start binging on Yuri on Ice episodes. And it was the binge of my life! I was hooked onto the story right from the start. Little did I know then, but Yuri on Ice would become the centrestone around which my fandom life revolves for two years (and counting).

I’d heard of Yuri on Ice before stumbling across that fan video, but after seeing the words “sports anime” in the Wikipedia description, I backed away from the idea of watching it because I didn’t “consider myself as a sports person.” In retrospect, that was the wrong decision and a very stupid reason for it!

When was the last time you had to fight for something you were entitled to? It could be every single day of your life – for the last cookie in the batch, for the amount of allowance you get each week. It is almost ingrained into human nature for us to speak up about an issue if we see that things aren’t going our way and if deemed reasonable and negotiations made, those issues could be resolved. However, if I were to rephrase my question slightly, everything might be different: when was the last time you had to fight for a right that you were entitled to as a human being? For many of us, the answer would probably be never. We live in such a privileged society today that we don’t have to struggle with such issues in our daily life but at the same time, we need to be aware that there are many in the world today that do.

Tokyo Ghoul (Season 1): Anime Review

If you have no idea what this anime is about, we have 2 questions for you: 1. Are you serious? and 2. No, really, are you SERIOUS?! This anime has been a tremendous success ever since its debut release in 2014 and even before that, the manga in which the anime takes its main storyline from has sold over 34 million copies worldwide, easily making it one of the most popular anime ever since Attack on Titan.

Truth be told though; this anime is not everyone’s cup of tea. It touches on some heavy topics like identity crisis, and is pretty violent; because you know, ghouls eat humans? So, if you can’t stand blood, gore, psychological horror I advise you don’t watch this. However, to those who love any form of horror and are not squeamish, you’re in for a treat!

This review will be a non-spoiler review as we wouldn’t want you to miss out on all the shocking and OMG moments that adds to the story’s intrigue.
