Deadpool 2 Review

Hello there dear reader! Hopefully you read the title of this before clicking on it, but in case you didn’t, this will be a movie review for the R-rated ‘film’, Deadpool 2. We are a family friendly site, so I cannot fully embrace the spirit of this film through the use of crass language. I can, however, embrace the barrier-breaking tone and write this as if I were talking to you, straight on, maintaining a self-aware edge to get inside your head. In other words, yo fourth wall! I’m milking the tar out of you today!

A Letter To The Hidden Ones

Dear you,

We live in a world filled with inventions in this 21st century. An era of modernisation, an era of a new society, a new well-being, a new character built in every single living being residing on this planet. It is an era of new ideas, which started small from new thoughts. Thoughts to create new inventions to support and aid this new era of globalisation. ‘New’: a word that speaks out as different; not just a replacement of something that was lost or broken or thrown away.

What Growing a Tomato Plant Taught Me About Life

Earlier this January, the fact that I was going to turn 20 this year hit me like a ton of bricks. In my eyes, I was a child trying on adult-sized pants, and I was vastly unprepared to face the real world. So like any teenager facing a quarter-life crisis, I rushed to do anything that promised to help me make sense of life.

As chance would have it, I was scrolling through Facebook one midnight when I came across Free Tree Society’s announcement that they would be giving away, well–free trees!

To Sleep in the Woods

In the evening of a dreary November, the clouds enshrouded the heavens above with a weary gray that plagued the sunless skies and the horizon beyond. Sere leaves in shades of dull and worn amber drifted aimlessly in the chilling breeze, fallen from their trees that grew ever tired in the passing autumn, covering the ground as their ghastly graveyard. The ghostly mist shrouded the woods, smothering the trees into lifeless blurred silhouettes. I walked deep into the woods, below the shedding canopies, hearing the crunching of leaves that rested peacefully on the ground with every step I took.

Echo Eats: Which cafe has the best Spaghetti Carbonara?

This month on Echo, our team has decided to embark on a new project, one that we believe everyone is passionate about:
Food.
From the cup noodles we snatch up from vending machines on deadline nights, to the novel, opulent cafes we seek out with friends to marvel at, food is central to the student experience. It is the silent witness to our most intimate conversations, to our roughest nights and to our happiest celebrations.
Hence, we at Echo are proud to introduce the first article of a monthly series known as Echo Eats, where we review and hunt for foods to enhance your student experience here at Sunway.
For our first installment, we decided to undertake a classic comfort food: spaghetti carbonara.
